Ed Zenisek
NMSU CPM & PSL IT Manager

Ed started at NMSU in 2007, working first for PSL as a Web Developer and then moving into Research where he wrote Maestro for the NMSU Office of Research Compliance.  In 2020, Eric Sanchez, the director of PSL, foresaw the need for dedicated staff to implement CMMC for CUI compliance at NMSU. He created a new IT department (Information Technology) and ISOC department(Information Security Operations Center).  In 2021, Ed was brought on as IT Department Head for the newly re-established PSL IT department, and in 2023 he was appointed NMSU CUI Processing Manager.  Along with Greg Cooper and the entire PSL technology staff, Ed works to implement CMMC at PSL and NMSU.

Ed's responsibility to CUI at NMSU is as the CUI Processing Manager.  He works with external entities to receive CUI and in-process the data so it can be tracked.  He also creates and tracks guest access to PSL resources so customers and clients can coordinate with NMSU and PSL. He consults with NMSU PIs and their teams to find the best way to protect grant or contract CUI using physical or cloud resources.
